Toby Hawthorne aka Harry

Toby Hawthorne, who Avery knew as the homeless man Harry, is the son of Rebecca’s mother. Rebecca’s mother became pregnant with the child out of wedlock and her parents forced her to give the baby away to the Hawthornes. The adoption was kept secret from everyone including Toby.

Toby became extremely angry when he learned he was adopted. He began using drugs and alcohol. After a stint in a rehabilitation center called Camden House, Toby decided to hurt his father by setting fire to the house on the family’s private estate. Toby had already soaked the house with an accelerant when it was hit by a strike of lightning. The three friends who were with Toby died in the fire. Toby was found by Jackson Currie as he was fishing in the ocean.
