Summary

In Chapter 24, Avery felt as if she were about to be sick as Oren and Eli escorted her away from Skye’s suite. She and Jameson determined Oren knew Skye and Ricky were dating and had not shared that information with them. Jameson tempted Avery to leave with him and create a scene in the hotel lobby, but Oren insisted Avery go to school.

In Chapter 25, that afternoon Alisa showed Avery a picture someone had taken of her and Jameson in the hotel that had been sold to a newspaper. The headline indicated that tensions were growing between her and the Hawthorne family. Alisa indicated that was not the story they wanted to tell. To control the damage, Alisa said that Avery and the Hawthorne brothers would be attending a memorial fundraiser the following evening.
