Summary
In Chapter Six, Hamed and Onsi went to the Ramses Station the next morning. Women from all over Egypt arrived to await the announcement of the women’s vote. Hamed and Onsi were dressed as pregnant women in order to trick the al. They ordered Bashir to start the tram up and run in on an old line that circled the center of Cairo and was never used so that the al would assume they were passengers. They climbed on board and sat down on opposite ends of the tram. Hamed looked out the window until suddenly the al appeared next to him in the form of a little girl. She reached out and touched his stomach, then smiled at him. Onsi, carrying two knitting needles, sang a lullaby and slowly crept up behind the al.
However, the al sensed the ambush...
