Summary
Maverick talks to Starr about racial injustice. He tells her that African Americans are provided less opportunities from the start due to things like poverty and poor education. He says this is how they get involved with drugs and gangs. This is related back to Khalil's conversation about Tupac's THUG quote. He says it is important to speak out about inequality. At the store, DeVante shows up and he is hiding from King, who wants him to kill the Garden Disciples who killed his brother. Maverick wants to help DeVante get out of the gang life, and offers him a place to stay and a job.
