The Message
From the beginning of this novel, Nouriel emphasizes the importance of the mysteries he will reveal, but he also stresses that the message is what is important, not the messenger. When he first begins learning from the prophet, the prophet tells him that, "It's all about finding out what it's all about" (page 12), again indicating the importance of the message that he will reveal. The prophet also tells Nouriel that there must be a message where there is a seal, and furthermore, the prophet has a message for Nouriel. Because ancient Israel and America both turn from God's ways, He sends a message urging them to return lest they face judgment, but when his warning falls on deaf ears, the alarms sound louder.
