Chapter 8 Summary and Analysis

In Chapter 8: The Fourth Harbinger: The Tower, Nouriel researches the Tower of Babel since it seems to be depicted on the seal, but he finds no connection between the Tower and Isaiah 9:10, so he visits the largest standing tower in New York City, the Empire State Building, where he encounters the prophet. The prophet tells Nouriel that the next part of the prophecy regards rebuilding which is the key to the Fourth Harbinger, the Tower, but the problem lies with the spirit and motive behind the rebuilding as they defiantly rebuilt with stronger material. Likewise, American leaders repeatedly promised to rebuild after 9/11, and these words were followed by action as a sign appeared at Ground Zero claiming the intention to build the Freedom Tower, meant as a symbol of rebuilding but is actually an icon of defiance.
