Chapter 10, The Oldest Profession Updated, or, Behind Open Doors Summary and Analysis
In Chapter Ten, Xaviera attempts to back up her argument that prostitution is a perfectly respectable and necessary profession through a series of examples of clients she feels have benefited from her services. In Story one, a psychiatrist sends her a young man who is twenty-nine, still a virgin, and afraid to have sex.
