Summary
In Chapter 10, the police officers came to the house again. They explained that Tripp had help disappearing. He was working with a man named Mark Duro whose identification card they found at a PO box. When they showed Malcolm the license, the photo was a picture of Roddy in a button-down shirt. Malcolm “made his face a blank” and asserted that he did not recognize Mark Duro (242). When the police left, Malcolm drove to Roddy’s apartment. At the local diner, Malcolm asked Roddy to explain his involvement with Tripp and the fake id card. The young bartender confessed that their regular had approached him months earlier..
