Summary

Jess remembers the day she met Neil, at Patrick and Siobhán’s house, in Chapter 5. Siobhán had called her to explain that Patrick’s college friend just moved to town, and she wanted him to meet people. At the barbeque, she chatted with Neil as other women approached to ask if he needed toys and other gadgets for his children. She forgot she had given him her number until weeks letter when he texted asking if she had been running near the train that morning. When Malcolm asked who she was texting she avoided the question.
