Julia “Jules” Keegan
Julia “Jules” Keegan is the bride. She is one of the first-person narrators in the novel. Because Jules is so dedicated to perfection and being seen as a competent and independent woman, it is shocking that she allows herself to be so blindsided by Will. Jules is shocked and angry with herself when she learns how badly Will fooled her.
Jules brings a good deal of rage with her to her wedding. She is angry with her father because he spent so little time with her when she was a child. Even as an adult, her father has not paid much attention to her. He does not even meet Will until the night before the wedding. Jules is similarly angry with her mother. She envies the relationship that Olivia has with their mother. She is also angered when her mother says she is proud of herself...
