Cullen Post
Cullen Post is the main character and narrator of this novel. He started his career in law as a defense lawyer but soon became convinced that not every client deserved to have a trial or a lawyer because it was clear they were guilty. When Post was assigned to defend a black teenaged gang member who had killed a white boy and girl in a gang ritual, Post had a mental breakdown.
After spending one month in a mental hospital, Post went to seminary and was ordained as a minister. At the first church where Post served as an associate pastor, Post was introduced to the prison ministries. Post met Frankie and became determined that Frankie was innocent. He discovered Guardian Ministries and was hired as its first employee. Frankie was the first convict that Post got exonerated.
