Summary
In Chapter 6, Post visits Quincy at the Garvin Correctional Institute. The two first met when Post was working as a priest there. Post takes Quincy through the steps that he plans to follow to prove that Quincy is not a murderer. He hopes that Zeke Huffey, a jailhouse snitch who testified that Quincy bragged about having killed Russo, will recant his testimony. Post also plans to talk to Quincy’s ex-wife, June, who lied during his original trial. Quincy warns Post that he does not think June will admit she lied during the trial. Post asks Quincy if he has a theory about who actually killed Russo, Quincy promises to write a letter describing his theory because he does not trust that the prison phone has not been bugged. Post believes Quincy’s fear of retaliation after 22 years indicates how dangerous the case...
