Perspective
Mr. Paul Theroux, the author, has the perspective of a traveler looking to meet new people and see new places. The report of the author's travels is largely told in the first person but is interrupted by many anecdotes that the author reports as told in the first person by another person. The author is an American in his 30s who is married with children, and living in London, UK. He has taken out four months to travel, take down his impressions and write a book.
