Summary
In 1986, Charlie’s supportive mother, Teresa, shows up for a surprise visit at Charlie and Yale’s apartment. Charlie is home but stays in their bedroom. Teresa announces that she is taking him to get tested. Yale is resistance because he believes that Charlie is accusing him of cheating on him. He realizes that Teresa means to imply that Charlie has slept with Julian, who is infected. Yale runs through events of the past several months, trying to figure out when Charlie had been infected and when they had last had sex.
