Part 3 Summary
Part 3 begins with a quote from St. Mark 1:11 in which a voice from heaven is well-pleased with His beloved son. Josh is nervous to spend lunch with Beth since Larry had written about spending time alone in the woods while he had been doing the same, but her news yanks him into an alternate reality; Bono has organized a rock festival to be held in Maine as a gathering of anti-consumerism, and he calls it Larryfest! The message boards beg Larry to come, even if he remains incognito. Overwhelmed, Josh visits his Mom at Bloomingdale's after school, and when a man tells his wife to continue her life's work, Josh knows he must exemplify Larry's beliefs nonstop, and Larryfest is the perfect place to start.
