Chapter 8 Summary

One night, when Frank visits Maria, he decides that instead of sex, he wants Maria to tell him everything about her life. He asks her a lot of questions and she becomes angry and she insists that she's already told him everything there is to tell. Frank gives up and they have sex.

Laurence's girlfriend, Zanele, is to come for a visit. Laurence asks Frank if there is a hotel nearby where Zanele can stay. Frank tells him that he will vacate their room, but Laurence protests that it would not be right so Laurence asks Frank to inquire of Mama Mthembu if she has a room.
