Summary

In Chapter 15, at the funeral parlor, Charlie and Sam agreed that their father did not look like himself. Charlie said she did not want to look at him any longer. In vain, she tried to close the casket. Sam finally found the switch that controlled the pneumatic hinge. Charlie leaned over the casket and cried. As Sam watched her sister cry, she knew that she had been hypocritical for asking Charlie to unburden herself while she was keeping her own secrets to herself. She told Charlie that even though Anton had a DNR, she could not allow life support to be turned off. Even though Anton cried because he was in such excruciating pain, Sam could not let him go. She said she would have done the same thing with their father.
