Summary

In Chapter 11, in the courtroom, Sam sat at the defense table and ignored both the crowd behind her and Ken Coin, the prosecutor. She did not like Ken and did not plan to pretend that she did. Sam also was angry that Ken had played a role in the video of Kelly made at the hospital.

Kelly cried out for her mother and father when she was brought into the courtroom. Sam grabbed her hands and made her focus on her in order to calm her down. When Judge Stan Lyman entered the courtroom his gaze stopped on Sam. He asked Sam to remove her sunglasses. She explained they were prescription glasses. The judge asked to see them. No one said anything to vouch for Sam even though she knew that Ken, as well as most of the people in the gallery, knew...
