Flavia de Luce

Flavia is the narrative's pre-teen protagonist. Ophelia and Daphne are her sisters. Undine is her cousin and Dogger is her partner in her detective agency. Mrs. Mullet is the family’s cook who also does housework.

Flavia is an intelligent girl with a logical mind. She loves chemistry and her knowledge of it generates the realization that someone poisoned Mrs. Prill. In addition, her powers of observation lead to the identification of the type of woman the finger in the wedding cake belongs to. At the same time, her knowledge is well-rounded and she uses all aspects of her knowledge, which includes literature as well as chemistry, to move forward in the case.
