Summary

In Chapter 6, Flavia and Dogger arrive home in time for tea. Mrs. Mullet tells Flavia that Mrs. Prill had come by saying that she left her purse there and that she needed to see Flavia and Dogger. Dogger invites Mrs. Mullet to have tea with them. Daphne does not join them because she is reading. Afterwards, Flavia and Dogger go to Balsam Cottage to see Mrs. Prill. On the way, they discuss their strategy and why they think she came to the house. When they arrive at the cottage, she does not answer the door, but they find it unlatched and enter. At first, they think she is not home, but then they discover her corpse. Before calling the police, they look around her house.
