Summary

In Chapter 1, Flavia de Luce introduces herself and her detective agency Arthur W. Dogger & Associates. She details the events regarding the wedding of her sister, Ophelia, and Dieter. Her narrative includes telling readers about verbal disruptions that Undine and Ophelia’s ex-boyfriend make during the wedding, the making of the wedding cake, the arrival of Reggie, the best man, the tune played after the wedding vows are taken, and the fight that occurs between two sisters when Ophelia throws the wedding bouquet.
