Summary
In the section Day 5, Daphne and Honey wake up early. Honey is extra affectionate, which Daphne loves. She quickly grows tired, however, as the morning drags on and she can find little to do. Watching Honey makes her realize how much Engin is missing. She feels a pang of anger he has not tried harder to recover his green card. In the paper she finds letters to the editor regarding the State of Jefferson written by Cindy and her uncle Rodney. Though she does not understand or support the effort, reading about it makes her feel close to some important activity. When she sees the name of her grandparents' church in the paper, she decides to take Honey.
