El Higgins

El is the protagonist and narrator of the novel. She is an 18-year-old young woman who has just graduated from the Scholomance throughout the course of the book. El was conceived while her parents were students at the Scholomance. However, her father died during the graduation ceremony when he was eaten by a maw-mouth. El’s mother raised her alone, but she brought her to meet Arjun’s family once. However, Deepthi—a great seer—foresaw that El would become the greatest maleficer of all time and that she would destroy the enclaves of the world. El’s mother decided to ignore these warnings, and she returned to Wales to raise El on her commune.
