Book 7, Chapter 26 Summary
Tom Hagen plays golf with Michael, Hal Mitchell, and a man Michael introduces as Joe Lucadello, his Italian friend from the Canadian Royal Airforce. Tom is suspicious; Lucadello acts like a mobster. Is Michael lying to him? Tom treats Michael like a little brother; when it comes to sports, Tom is the leader. After the game, Tom does a background check on Lucadello, and is surprised to find absolutely no information. The guy doesn't exist. That night, Tom meets his wife at the Andy Warhol art exhibition she arranged. Michael and some stockholders are there, too. Michael asks Tom if he had a nice afternoon. Somehow, Michael has learned that Tom checked up on Lucadello; he tells Tom the three of them have will meet tonight at midnight.
