Book 5, Chapter 18 Summary
Fausto Geraci, Sr., drives from Arizona to New York to see Nick. The next day the entire family takes a trip on the Circle Line, giving Fausto a chance to bond with his granddaughters, especially the youngest, Beverly. Later in the cruise, Fausto takes Nick aside and tells him he's there on important business, a message from Don Forlenza, but he won't discuss it there. Fausto picks a cockfight in Troy, New York, as the place to talk. On the drive to Troy, Fausto tells him Laughing Sal Narducci sabotaged Nick's plane hoping to humiliate Don Forlenza into stepping down so Narducci could be Don. Sal also convinced Forlenza to hide Nick away trying to make the old Don look soft-hearted and reckless.
