Book 4, Chapter 14 Summary
Nick Geraci wakes up in a hospital bed, but he's not in any hospital. The doctor who greets him is Jewish, and Nick jumps to the conclusion that he's there by the grace of his godfather, Vincent "the Jew" Forlenza. The doctor tells Nick he's fine, but warns him that the concussion he sustained in the plane wreck had better be the last concussion Nick ever suffers. Nick had been given a similar warning once before, when he was still boxing. The doctor leaves, and Nick is greeted by Laughing Sal Narducci, his godfather's consigliere. Sal informs Nick he's in Cleveland and asks him some tough questions about the flight. Nick denies using the word "sabotage," or if he did say it, he must've been thinking out loud, ruling out the possibility. Narducci is satisfied with Nick's story, true or not...
