Summary
Chapter 3 opens with an introduction to Georgie and Robbie’s relationship. They met when Georgie was 15 and had just run away from home, interacting at first due to their mutual drug addictions. They end up in a mutually dependent relationship, with Robbie supplying Georgie with cocaine, and Georgie selling her body to help pay Robbie’s debts. Robbie convinces Georgie to work as a prostitute in a brothel, but Georgie soon finds that the johns of the brothel are “vicious, much more so than the last-minute trawlers” she used to pick up on the street (32).
