Pilgrim Jones (Lankester)
Pilgrim Jones is the main protagonist in The Gloaming. Pilgrim meets a handsome, intelligent, and older man named Tom while she is in college. The two of them get married quite quickly and travel around the world for her husband's job. He is a wealthy lawyer who stays in elite social circles, and he trains Pilgrim in how to handle such social situations. Her husband, Tom, leaves Pilgrim in Arnau, Switzerland under the ruse that she is there to prepare their dream home. He leaves her so that he can be with his pregnant mistress, Elise, and Pilgrim is left all alone in Arnau.
Pilgrim wakes up in a hospital and is told that she got there because her car was in an accident that killed three children. She is put through an investigation and found innocent. She cannot remember the accident and, as a result...
