Importance: It is fairly obvious, but this quote from the first town hall meeting demonstrates how much men dominate the town of Baileyville, and how many of them will often speak simply because they believe they are the smartest person in the room. This is often at the detriment of the women, who have a hard time being taken seriously no matter how smart they are or how good their idea is.
