Summary

Chapter 25 begins with a description of Big Madams house, which is spacious and clean, with royal gold tiles on the floors and many rooms all decorated with expensive pieces. Adunni perks up when she sees the library, saying “my heart is swelling as I am looking it all. It like I am inside one kind of heaven of books and educations” (153). The library makes her think back to Kike and their talk of filling their minds with the lives they want, expanding inwardly as a way to get freedom.

After Adunni meets Big Daddy, Big Madam’s husband, Kofi tells her to be cautious around him, illustrating him as a dangerous womanizer.
