Chapter 37

The phone rings immediately, but it’s not the number Cady dialed. She answers, and it’s her mom. Janie questions Cady about what her grandma got her for Christmas just to make sure that it is truly Cady. Cady gives the right answer and her mother starts crying. Cady asks about Max and her father, and Janie says they aren't in great shape. She then warns Cady about Elizabeth, and Cady tells her everything that has happened to her.

Janie tells Cady to brace herself but that she has bad news. She says that Cady's father was shot when they were attempting to escape with the evidence that they had against the company.
