Rachel Watson

Rachel Watson is a young, overweight woman in her early thirties, who serves as one of the three narrators of the novel “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins. Rachel is the ex-wife of Tom Watson, and now lives with an old friend from college, Cathy. Rachel, while married, was unable to conceive children, and so began to drink heavily, putting a huge strain on her marriage as her drinking got worse. This provides an excuse for Tom to cheat on Rachel, to divorce her, and to remarry with Anna.
