Chapter Thirty-Four through Chapter Thirty-Seven Summary

David admits in chapter thirty-four he never ran again. He admits he feels as though he is outside of the torture and pain, but is addicted to seeing how far it will go. For several days after the shower, the Chandlers keep Meg clothed and untied, feeding her soup and sandwiches, allowing her blisters to heal.
