Point of View

The novel is told in the third person limited point of view following four of the main characters. The first one is Séverin, the leader of the group who has the most effect on the story. Almost all of his sections start with an introduction of one of his foster fathers to establish the theme of the Seven Deadly Sins. Second is Laila, where the reader learns about her birth as a Forged human and her fear of death if she does not find the book that helped make her. Third is Enrique, a bisexual, half-Filipino, half-Spanish genius with a love of history and mythology. Last is Zofia, a math genius who does not understand social queues or simple conversations.
