Summary

Part Five opens with a proclamation from the Order’s Russian faction reminding everyone that they must protect their power, not abuse it. She says that their power does not make them gods, and those who reach for unattainable power always fall.

Two hours before midnight, Zofia looks at three dresses Laila left for her before she left. She chooses a forged embroidered dress and ensures that she has hidden as many weapons and inventions as possible. Enrique and Hypnos join her and they all leave for the Exposition. Once there, they head to the hidden door and she gives a giant silver cloth to Enrique and Hypnos. As it covers the wall, she turns on the mnemo bug that is linked to her brain and tells the boys to start posing when the clock hits eleven...
