Summary
Making meaningful change is a process that can be both uncomfortable and risky. However, we must ask ourselves: "What is the greater risk? Letting go of that people think or letting go of how I feel, what I believe, and who I am?" (125). Brown doesn't think of this book as self-help, but as "an invitation to join a Wholehearted revolution" (126). This is a movement "fueled by the freedom that comes when we stop pretending everything is okay when it isn't" and "where we can take to the streets with our messy, imperfect, wild, stretch-marked, wonderful, heartbreaking, grace-filled, and joyful lives" (126). In our current world, "choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance" (126).
