The Inclusa

The Inclusa is the orphanage where Puri works and Christina lives when she is an infant. From Puri's perspective, it is a wonderful place because she gets to work with the children there though she has some concerns about where these children come from and why so many are handed over willingly by their parents. The orphanage is huge and can house about 500 children and 100 mothers at any given time. There is a records room in the basement where Puri finds records that confound her questions about the legitimacy of the operation. By the time Daniel returns, 18 years later, there are far fewer orphans.
