Summary

In Chapter 22, Ana addresses Daniel formally, and the employees snap to attention, aware that a guest has wandered in. Ana gets her uniform apron and offers to accompany him to the lobby. She suggests he might want to eat and he asks if they can eat together. Ana initially tries to refuse, but gives in and makes them a plate from the kitchen, eating it in the employee dining area. Ana hesitates, but again gives in, justifying it by saying she is assigned to see to the needs of the Matheson family. Daniel asks if she always works so late. She says she stays at the hotel two nights each week. Then, she catches herself and changes the topic. When Daniel says he wants to learn more about Spain, she suggests he contact the concierge.
