Summary
Although Melissa has welcomed the group into her home, there seems to be tension between her and her husband. He seems skeptical and resentful of their visit, whereas Melissa wants so badly for it to be real. Melissa picks up Tommy in her arms, and watching them reunite reminds Janie of her own first moments being reunited with Noah, when the doctor held him out to her, dripping with fluids and still attached by an umbilical cord. Noah pushes Melissa away, rejecting her and rejecting the possibility that she is his mother. With this action, he has rejected any hope she has that her baby has come back to her.
Melissa grows distraught, as Dr. Anderson and Janie explain that they made a mistake. Melissa's husband reminds her that they have another son together, another son that needs her attention...
