Summary
Spurred on, perhaps, by his drive to finish the case, and his drive to keep writing despite the progression of his disease, Dr. Anderson gets two speeding tickets on his way to Ashview. On the drive, he falls into another flashback, remembering his first case in Thailand. In the flashback, he meets his research partner, Bobby Angsley for breakfast before they embark on the case. Angsley produces a Raggedy Anne doll from his bag, meant for the girl whose case they are studying. Dr. Anderson considers the doll bribery, insisting to Angsley that, “the girl will say whatever you want her to say” (126).
