Major Mandella, 2458-3142 A.D., Chapter 5 Summary
Diana is treating Mandella's injuries in the clinic right after the attack and they discuss with Charlie the best way to handle Graubard. Mandella thinks he should kill the private himself. Charlie and Diana disagree and tell him that his authority as commander will be compromised if he does not delegate the responsibility to someone else. They go in a circular discussion about this for some time, and then Diana goes to check on Graubard in his holding cell. A few minutes later, she and several privates rush into the room with Graubard on a cart. His belt is looped around his neck and he is unconscious.
