Summary
In Chapter 29, as Elena waited for Cassie and Enrico to emerge from Enrico’s uncle’s house, Elena knew she had blown Viktor’s faith in her by not killing Cassie the night she killed Alex because Viktor thought she was protecting an FBI asset or agent. Elena knew they had figured out that she had turned and was now working for the CIA. One of the reasons that Elena had turned was because when she was in Boston, the man who recruited her told her that Viktor and the other Cossacks had poisoned her father with methyl iodide. As Elena followed Cassie and Enrico, it finally came to her that Enrico had taken Cassie to his uncle’s house to get a gun.
