Summary
Chapter 22
It is the day of the broadcast for Katherine and Diane’s phone call. The reporter is on camera telling the world about Coldwater, Michigan. He recaps the series of events for the viewing audience, stating that not since Alexander Graham Bell demonstrated the phone for the Queen of England has the world sat in such anticipation of a phone call.
A massive snowstorm has blanketed the entire town of Coldwater. Schools and businesses are closed because snow plows can’t get through all of the congestion in town. Sully’s father comes to pick up Jules and keep him for the day while Sully walks in to work. Talking with his father Sully finds out that Horace, the funeral director, is not the original owner of the funeral home. The original owner, Sam, retired two years prior.
