Chapter 19

Channel 9 News has a new broadcast. Amy reports that one of the recipients, Kelly Podesto, whose friend died in a car accident the year before, has come forward stating that she made the phone call up. She apologizes to the girl’s family and to the town.

The report isn’t out an hour before an emergency meeting is called in the Mayor’s office. Many of the advertisers and new businesses now want out of their contracts. They feel as if they have been duped. The Mayor reassures them that one teenager’s prank shouldn’t cloud the rest of the miracles. They agree to stay in town, but will withhold their advertising dollars until they are sure the damage has been mitigated.
