Summary
In an ‘Editor’s Note’ section, Sunny addresses the Rivington Showcase, the infamous show in 1971 where a racist gang beat Jimmy to death. Opal and Nev first rose to fame due to an iconic photograph of them fleeing from the angry racist mob. Sunny includes a record of a discussion she had with her colleagues at Aural about the photo, Opal and Nev, and music history in general. Chapter 10 begins with Howie and Bob’s respective recollections about the events leading up to the Rivington Showcase. After the failure of Polychrome, Howie signed a band called the Bond Brothers, who quickly became their most successful act. The band was comprised of four brothers from Florida, led by Chet Bond.
