Summary
Chapter 17 returns to the third person point of view. Damaya has accepted the reality that she will never have friends at the Fulcrum. For this reason, she entertains herself in her free time by exploring the Fulcrum complex as well as Main. She is particularly intrigued by the parts of Main that are no longer used because the building is simply too big.
Things change for Damaya when she notices a strange girl pretending to be a grit slip into the complex. In the dormitory, Damaya confronts the girl and says she will tell an instructor if she does not give her identity. The girl says her name is Binof. She explains that she does not want to get Damaya in trouble, but she wants to know if Damaya has noticed anything strange. When Binof makes a hexagonal shape with her hands, Damaya...
