Summary
Faith’s magnetism and proficiency at public speaking work to continue growing her fame. As time passes, she becomes less preoccupied with thoughts of Emmett and his wife. Emmett inherited Madeline’s fortune when they married and he used his new money to create ShraderCapital. Faith is aware that despite his accomplishes, he has dabbled in less savory business investments and practices and everything “appeared to be counterbalanced by good” (303).
In 1973, the Roe V. Wade decision is passed and Faith is more determined than ever to defend the newly instated abortion laws.
