Summary
Bonding over a slightly idealistic form of feminism, Greer and Zee become close friends. They continue to wear their Darren Tinzler t-shirts around campus, and they are wearing them the night they attend a speech by Faith Frank at Ryland.
Zee reveres Faith, even though she “represents this kind of outdated idea of feminism” (24), and she feels that Faith will be able to offer insight and guidance on how to proceed with the Darren Tinzler issue. With admittedly little knowledge of Faith, Greer takes to Google and discovers that the icon and activist is a founder of Bloomer, a feminist magazine dating to the 1970’s. Greer also discovers that Faith has published a book entitled The Female Persuasion, which argues the notion that women can be tough in business without sacrificing their integrity.
