Summary

After Amadito leaves Imbert at Imbert’s cousin’s house, Imbert passes between the houses of several friends and relatives, staying at each place only briefly. From a distant relative, he learns that the SIM has arrested his cousin. In a last-ditch attempt, he calls an Italian diplomat named Rainieri he used to be friends with. He gets a female host to call Rainieri using the maiden name of his wife. Upon hearing the name, Rainieri immediately sends a car. It turns out Imbert’s wife and daughter were already in hiding at the diplomat’s house, and so he guessed from the wife’s name that the caller must be connected to Imbert.
