Chapter 14 Summary
On the flight home, Augustus asks the stewardess for champagne. Mrs. Lancaster is asleep and Hazel adjusts the nubbins in her nose to get the stewardess to say yes. Gus is in pain, so Hazel digs a pill out of his bag for him to take with the champagne. Mr. Lancaster meets them in the baggage claim with a sign that says, "My beautiful family, and Gus."
When Hazel tells her dad about Gus's recurrence over dinner, he says he knows. He says his mom told them before the trip. He apologizes. The next day, Hazel eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with Gus's parents while Gus naps on the living room couch. Isaac comes over. He says how much it sucks when he finds out Gus is napping.
When Gus wakes up, Isaac and Gus hug awkwardly. They tell each other how...
